2017,  United Kingdom
Passive house (German: Passivhaus) is a rigorous, voluntary standard for energy efficiency in a building, reducing its ecological footprint. It results in ultra-low energy buildings that require little energy for space heating or cooling. They provide a high level of occupant comfort. They are built with meticulous attention to detail and rigorous design and construction according to certain principles, and can be certified through an exacting quality assurance process.
