Language Acquisition and Translation Evaluation (LATE) Questionnaire

Hello! I am Obed Ebenezer .S, a Research Scholar at the Department of English, University of Calicut, Kerala, India. I am doing my Research in Translation Studies.

This Language Acquisition and Translation Evaluation (LATE) Questionnaire aims to collect and understand data on the acquisition of languages and approaches to translation across widely variable geographical and linguistic regions, in addition to making data trends accessible to all who are interested in this field. A section on Poetry Translation (optional) has also been added. The LATE Questionnaire draws upon the 'Translation & Interpretation Competence Questionnaire' (TICQ) by Schaeffer et. al. (2019), the 'Language Experience and Proficiency Questionnaire' (LEAP-Q) by Marian, Blumenfeld, & Kaushanskaya (2007), and the 'Language History Questionnaire' (LHQ) by Li, Sepanski & Zhao (2006). Some of the questions have been modified to reflect the conditions in India and other multilingual regions.  

No Personal Identification details will be collected in this Survey. The Survey can be paused and resumed at any later stage, as long as the same browser is used (not applicable in incognito or private modes). 

Average Time required for Completing this Survey: 20 Minutes (Min:7 Minutes; Max:35 Minutes). The time will increase or decrease depending upon the options selected.
