The role, significance, and specific pathways of endocrine disruptors and their contribution to the etiology of premenstrual disorders are the subject of the proposed study. The present study will attempt to answer the question: Does the effect on exposed women of significant exposure to xenoestrogens, i.e. endocrine disruptors, lead to premenstrual disorders, relative to controls with women who were not exposed? As a subcomponent of an overall study of the effects of xenoestrogen and goitrogen exposure, this study will attempt to determine the level of exposure of a population of women to endocrine disruptors and goitrogens that may contribute to the onset of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) or premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).
