The presence of therapy dogs is proven to increase the efficacy of many healthcare- and education-related interventions for children. Surprisingly, the power of the human-canine bond has yet to be employed in the realm of physical education. We suspect that forging special relationships with dogs in the context of P.E. class might help students find P.E. more meaningful and enjoyable. And might help students be more motivated to be physically active (versus non-active) when given a choice between the two. Schools are positioned to play a critical role in shaping young people’s attitudes toward physical fitness, health and wellness. This study could help aid schools in their efforts to implement innovative programming that increases students’ physical activity throughout the school day. These surveys are for collecting anecdotal data, which will supplement to that which will be collected through a research project run in-person, whose participants are middle school students. We so much appreciate your help!
