As of the 2024 AGM, the Regional Support Group Coordinator role was vacated. There are similarities and also overlap with the Volunteer Coordinator and the Regional Support Group Coordinator roles, not only in interviewing and selecting candidates, but also in communicating, organizing, documenting and managing team players.
With the overlap and similarities of the 2 roles and given Rhea Bhalla's extensive experience with leading support groups, I asked her if she might be interested and willing to take on the additional responsibility of the Regional Support Group Coordinator role while maintaining her role as Volunteer Coordinator. She took some time to consider it, after reviewing the requirements of the role) and decided that it would be a great opportunity for her that she is confident she can manage.
So, I am putting a vote to the board for the following:
We merge the Volunteer Coordinator and the Regional Support Group Coordinator Board of Director roles into one.
Rhea Bhalla retains her existing role and takes on the Regional Support Group Coordinator responsibilities.
The role will have the title (suggested by Rhea) of: Volunteer and Support Groups Coordinator.
This means that we will have 12 Board roles rather than 13. We will remain as such and give time for Rhea to adjust to the added responsibilities. Once she is comfortable with her added responsibilities, we will only consider another Board role, should the need arise.
Please add your vote today, if possible. The vote deadline if Friday, January 10th. Thank YOU!
