Barnes Park Community Hub Consultation

2020,  United Kingdom

As you will no doubt be aware, the Parish Council in partnership with Hasmoor and Grassland Big Local is looking to replace the existing sports pavilion in Barnes Park with a brand new community facility which will provide not only sports facilities but also facilities for the wider community.

The project is nearing completion in terms of planning and design. The majority of the funding is also in place and is made up of grant funding, including a grant from the Hasmoor and Grassland Big Local and also money received from local housing developments (known as section 106 planning contributions). Further grant applications are awaiting a decision. In order to guarantee that the project can proceed, the Parish Council has agreed to apply for a loan to cover any potential shortfall in funding.

In order to apply for a loan from the Public Works Loans Board, the Parish Council is required to consult with the local community. It would be helpful therefore if you could spare time to answer the two questions below. It is worth noting that the figures quoted in the questions are a worst case scenario and the amount of loan will hopefully be lower than the figure quoted so the cost to individual households is also likely to be lower.

Thank you for your time.
