Methley United AFC - 2020 Lockdown Survey for Players, Coaches and Parents

2020,  United Kingdom

Hi everyone

Hope you and your families are all keeping safe and well during this very strange and unsettling times. I like, most of you are missing the football and the social interaction with the parents, coaches and players and hoping that we can back up and running when the time is right, that being when we can guarantee the safety of everyone within the club and also to those in our local community.

Throughout the past few months, the committee have been in regular contact with all our coaches within the club to keep them informed, last month we set up a Zoom call to catch up and get everything in order for the new 2020/21 season, this involved working out the number of teams we were going to setup in each age group and which leagues they were going to play in.

Government guidelines are changing on a regular basis as you are all aware and there has been a number of confusing communications issued by the FA which has led to some clubs being disciplined for not adhering to these. Our stance as a club at present is that no football activity should take place at this time, there are many reasons for this but ultimately, we as a committee can not guarantee the safety of all our players, coaches and parents. We therefore do not wish to open the doors to any football activity until we have completed all necessary steps in ensuring we can confidently do that.

We are meeting again as a committee on Thursday to discuss the next steps we take as a club but prior to the meeting we wanted to get the feedback of all our people to understand their thoughts on the current situation.  If you could kindly complete the survey, both parents/carers feel free to complete this, along with all players and coaches, we really would value your thoughts at this time.

Keep safe, keep well and take care

Chris & The Methley United AFC Committee
