On 6th and 7th of July Future Leap team will be having a tree-planting away day with Avon Needs Trees!
The team will be split into two groups, either going on the 6th or the 7th- tree planting will be from 10:00-15:00 but please allow time for travel.
The conservation tasks will likely include weeding around the saplings, replacing some mulch mats and some clearing of scrubland or footpaths as needed.
There will also be a little tour and talk about the site. Great Avon Wood is accessed through public footpaths, and might be up to half a mile from car parking spots or nearest bus stop. Bicycles can be brought right into the woodland area.
Great Avon Wood is located in Chew Valley near the village of Pensford, close to the A37. It is around a 35 min drive from the Gloucester road hub. It can be reached by bus from the centre of Bristol (numbers 376 and 379) and is only a short distance from Whitchurch, where Sustrans’ National Cycle Network 3 is largely vehicle-free to central Bristol.
