Our team at The Citadel has been tasked to create a method of recycling failed or old prints along with any filament that may have been exposed to mositure or other elements that would normally constitute throwing the filament away.
It is our goal to build the recycling machine in a way that will extrude like-new filament out to be wound onto a spool for use in a 3-D printer. The current scope is ABS and PLA plastics but other may be added if materials can be aquired for testing.
