Market Entry Barriers Experienced by South African Wine Producers Engaged in International Trading and Globalisation - June 2020

2020,  South Africa

South Africa has a rich and interesting wine industry history. For much of the 20th century, the South African wine industry received minimal international attention. With global sales reaching into the billions of dollars, wine can be considered one of the world’s largest markets.

Barriers to entry (BTE) is the economic term describing the existence of obstacles that can prevent new competitors from easily entering an area of business or industry.

This questionnaire aims to address certain BTE in the wine industry in South Africa.
