The Louisiana Area Assembly is a quarterly gathering of Al-anon members in service to the fellowship. Group Representatives (GRs) make decisions that guide Louisiana Al-Anon at every Assembly meeting, making that role one of the most important at the Assembly. The GRs bring their groups (in spirit) with them to Assembly, and in turn, the GRs bring Assembly back to their groups.
Connections are made at Assembly! It's not all business. By doing the business of Al-Anon our hearts are joined in our singleness of purpose. It's amazing!
The importance of every active group having a voice through their GR at Assembly cannot be overstated! Currently 25% of active groups have no GR on record and a much higher percentage of GR's do not regularly attend Assembly. Why not?
