2020,  United Kingdom

Because of new UK Data Protection legislation, the church is required to manage responsibly and securely your personal information that may be held in church records.

This information is collected and held to enable the church to keep in touch with you and provide pastoral support as appropriate. Data Protection legislation allows us to process this information as we regard it as being in the church’s legitimate interest.

Your name and contact details will be held on paper and/or on a computer by church officers, administrators and activity leaders where appropriate.

Your contact details will be erased from church records if you cease attending the church for more than two years – unless you agree to them being kept.

Upon your request and with your agreement, your name and contact details are included in our secure on-line Members and Friends Address Book that is accessible only by those listed within it.

Your name will also be included in the Prayer Guide used to encourage mutual prayer and fellowship. The same contact details are used to administer a “prayer chain” for the rapid communication of urgent prayer items.

If you are happy for your details to be included please indicate where asked to do so below. You can ask for your details to be removed at any time.

To enable us to provide adequate pastoral support to you and your family, one of the Elders may record information which may be regarded as sensitive. This information will be kept confidential and will NOT be disclosed to anyone outside the eldership without your consent.

You have the right to ask to see any information we hold about you (including the pastoral support information) by submitting a written request to the Church Secretary. You also have the right to ask for information that you believe to be incorrect to be rectified.

If you are concerned about the way your information is being handled please speak to one of the Elders.
